How to measure your windows
Accurate measurements are the key to a perfect fit. Follow these simple steps before you order.
Grab your tools
Use a steel measuring tape (not fabric), a pencil and paper. Always measure in millimetres for accuracy.
Choose your mount
Decide between an inside mount for a clean, built-in look, or an outside mount for maximum coverage.
Measure & record
Take width and drop in three places each and record the values. This is where the diagrams below come in.
Inside (Recess) Mount
- Measure the exact width inside the recess at top, middle and bottom.
- Record the narrowest width — the factory makes deductions.
- Measure the drop from inside the top to the sill in three places.
- Check the recess depth is sufficient for the blind bracket.
Outside (Face) Mount
- Measure the window opening width, then add 40–75 mm overlap each side.
- Measure the desired drop, adding overlap above and below for light control.
- Ensure there is flat wall or architrave to fix the brackets to.
- No deductions are made — order the exact size you want the blind to be.
